Abstract

Supernumerary teeth are a number alteration that occurs in temporary and permanent teeth, the most prevalent is the mesiodens, located between the maxillary central incisors, which may be single, multiple, unilateral or bilateral.

Among the complications that can cause the mesiodens are the diastema, retention of permanent teeth and pathological rizalysis, dental malposition and malocclusion.
