The treatments performed on patients with orthognathic surgery tend to produce changes at the soft tissue or the patient's profile as a result of ortho dontic treatment and orthognathic surgery performed. The purpose of this paper is to identify the changes that occur in the profile of patients undergoing orthognathic surgery using a descriptive, observational and transversal.
For this work, patients who underwent these procedures were considered in who the nasal-labial and chin-labial angles were analyzed to determine the initial profile and the changes that occurred after orthognathic surgery, this thus determined that there are changes in these patients before and after treatment orthognathic. They were taken 30 patients with noticeable craniofacial disorders, which required a treatment that improves their occlusion, aesthetics and quality of life, by the constant rejection that they had due to their initial facial appearance.
The changes that occur are at the corners and nasal-labial and chin-labial because of the orthodontic treatment combined with orthognathic surgery, changing patient profile when the treatment is finished, resulting in a harmonious profile, aesthetic and near the standard, which in this case is a patient profile class l, with a straight profile.
