La creciente crisis climática requiere medidas urgentes y transformadoras para reducir las emisiones mundiales de gases de efecto invernadero. Una de las estrategias más prometedoras es reevaluar y reestructurar el sistema de transporte, en particular mejorando el transporte público y reduciendo el uso del automóvil privado (Givoni, 2020). Este enfoque no solo reduce significativamente las emisiones, sino que también ofrece múltiples beneficios colaterales que ayudan a crear un futuro urbano más sostenible y equitativo.
