This article refers to the importance of study techniques and habits, considered as fundamental elements for the learning of any student. Dropout rates and student failure in educational institutions generate the need to provide university students with tools that allow them to improve their academic performance. Study habits are the way in which the individual faces daily his academic work, such as time, space, etc. Instead, techniques are the methods used to study and thus assimilate or retain new information.
This research describes the different techniques and study habits used by the students of the second semester of the different careers of the Universidad Privada del Valle, La Paz. To achieve this objective, a quantitative-descriptive-deductive approach was used; the design was non-experimental-transectional; simple stratified non-probabilistic sampling of 213 students. The instrument was a questionnaire with the Likert scale of 31 questions.
