This paper is an experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive study in patients at the Dental Clinic of the Universidad del Valle in La Paz, made in 2012, in order to confirm and assess the complementary studies that Will help us to difierentiate a Granuloma and Periapical Cyst.
After two cases without pathology (control group) and nineteen cases (experimental group) observed, the Clinical Diagnosis was virtually impossible, but could indicate that these were Periapical Chronicles injuries, i.e. Periodontitis Periradicular Chronicle, uncertain the progress of the injury.
The radiological diagnosis did not provide an accurate and definitive answer to the injury, since the size, nor a well-defined cortical as a clear radiolucency. These are indicators which can be trusted if it is a granuloma or cyst; however, the only study that confirmed the diagnosis between the two conditions was a histopathological study.
