The oral papilloma are benign lesions caused by the human papillomavirus, which infects the basal epithelial cells of the skin and mucous membranes. Oral lesions caused by human papiIloma virus infection include squamous papilloma, verruca vulgaris, condyloma acuminata, and multifocal epithelial hyperplasia.
We present the case of a 76 year old patient with oral papilloma with a simultaneous presentation of squamous papi/lomas at the tongue level and a multifocal epithelial hyperplasia in the labia/ and retrocomisural mucosa. The therapeutic management was carried out in the chair of Oral Surgery in the operating room of the Dental Clinic of the Universidad del Valle La Paz.
The professional of the health area should be familiarized to identify the oral papilloma in order to avoid infections or contamination to other sectors of the oral cavity, and to carry out the opportune treatment.
