Ranula is an extravasation lesion (pseudocyst), benign, congenital or acquired, rare, usually located in the region above the mylohyoid muscle or in the submandibular space, it is related to a congenital malformation, which causes inadequate drainage of the sublingual glands, or with traumatic and obstructive events that affect the glands or their excretory ducts. A 10-year-old female patient is presented with a lesion at the level of the floor of the mouth, this being a raised red erythematous lesion with a sessile base, 8mm in diameter, with a bluish-white surface on the left side of the floor of the mouth, painless on palpation. Complementary tests are requested to make a decision on the treatment plan. Modified micromarsupialization is today the surgical technique of choice in the treatment.
