The objective of this study is to analyze the current evidence available regarding the diagnostic accuracy of alternative methods for the screening and evaluation of sarcopenia in older adults. Methods: A scoping review was conducted of diagnostic accuracy studies published between January 2020 and May 2024 in the geriatric population, in accordance with the provisions of the PRISMA-ScR Declaration. The search was performed in the PubMed, SpringerLink and ScienceDirect databases. Results: Of the 539 records found, 520 were eliminated, including a total of 19 articles for the final analysis. The main instruments used to detect cases of sarcopenia were the SARC-F, SARC-CalF and Ishii-score scales. Conclusion: Among the instruments analyzed within the literature, Ishii-score showed a greater discriminative capacity for detecting cases of sarcopenia in older adults.
