Performing the intraoral examination and evaluating the oral mucosa is very important because lesions recognized as normal conditions of the oral mucosa can be detected due to physiological or traumatic development, modifying its structure. These are not considered pathological in nature and are not present in all people.
At the Dental Clinic of the Universidad Private del Valle, many patients present with several lesions without real pathological value; For this purpose, a review was carried out that could reinforce the knowledge of these conditions so as not to confuse them with pathological lesions and give an erroneous diagnosis or perform unnecessary treatment.
