The injuries valuation in Forensic Medicine is associated to the crime in personal injuries, which require an expertise examination for its damage assessment and incapacity. T his examination of injuries is extremely important in cases of family violence, child abuse and neglect, cases of torture, crimes against freedom, sexual integrity, genocide and even investigations of homicides.
The lesion is an organ or body systems alteration of the morphology and/or physiology, produced by a traumatic agent. The forensic doctor must identify, describe, and locate the morphological and functional alterations evaluated to help to confirm or rule out the various hypotheses about the events. For physical evidence, it is important to consider the Locard Exchange Principle: "Whenever two objects come into contact with each Other, they transfer part ofthe material they incorporate to the Other object". During the inspection, one must be extremely careful, since the evidence can be ignored or not seen.
