COVID-19 has become a global pandemic and the main health problem in our country. Observing how modifications in life habits and the development of activities, previously considered as routine, have significantly altered the life rhythm; also, taking into account the increasing number of infected people and the diminished capacity of the health system to provide necessary support, it is when the physiotherapist and kinesiologist takes an important role in the different phases of COVID-19. The present review arises from Siddiqi and Mehra, who propose the appropriate intervention, both in the outpatient part, in the hospitalization phase and in the intensive care units (ICU). The management of patients with the virus, by the physiotherapist focuses on human body movement, from the fundamental and complex, such as the movement of gases in the pulmonary and alveolar space, to the generation of highly elaborate movements. In addition to the intervention in recovered patients, with adequate and specific knowledge about the evaluation and treatment systems aimed at restoring the diminished capacities after the time of home and hospital isolation. In this context, the field of action of the physiotherapist and kinesiologist in the face of this new virus has been identified, in order to reduce functional complications secondary to this disease.
