This issue of the Journal of Research and Information on Health comes at an exceptional time for the country and for the world, regardless of the perspective with which it is observed. The emergence of a new disease called COVID-19 (for its acronym in English "Coronavirus Disease 2019") caused by a new virus of the coronavirus type called SARS-CoV-2 (for its acronym in English "severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2" ), has caused international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare its occurrence as a Pandemic due to a health emergency with global scope and impact.
