One-year skin leishmaniasis with treatment

The present clinical case is about a 38-year-old male patient, he presents non-pathological antecedents: living in the Yungas area, he denies pathological antecedents; He went to the clinic San Juan de Dios Health Center, referring to a clinical picture of approximately one year of evolution, characterized by the presence of ulcerative lesions post-mosquito bite in both lower limbs with the following dimensions: Right leg +/- 18cm x 7cm and on the left leg of +/- 10cm x 5cm, these lesions had signs of infection after not having been cured previously.
During his outpatient consultations, a skin smear of the lesion for leishmaniasis is requested, in addition to starting dressings to reduce the signs of infection; On July 12, a skin smear was obtained, the result of which was Positive for Leishmaniasis sp. Treatment based on meglumine antimoniate (Glucantime1.5gr/5ml) is indicated, in subsequent controls improvement of the previous lesions is seen, without the presence of infection, after completion of pharmacological treatment and the remission of the lesions, is decided his medical discharge.
