Proposal to Create the Office of the Ombudsman for Persons with Disabilities in the Autonomous Government from Quillacollo

In Bolivia there is no institution similar to a Defender of Children and Adolescents to protect and guarantee the rights of persons with disabilities at the municipal level range. No. 223 Law of 2 March 2012 entitled "General Law for Persons with Disabilities" was enacted in order to guarantee persons with disabilities the full exercise of their rights and duties on an equal footing and equal opportunities, preferential treatment under a comprehensive protection system; however, the current investigation has demonstrated the ineffectiveness of it. This research has as its object a proposed "Creation of advocaty forthe peo ple with Disabilities in the Autonomous Municipal Government of Quillacollo," which aims to create a dependent institution of the municipality that is responsible for enforcing rornpliance the rights of persons with disabilities against public and prívate institutions. The proposed regulations for peo ple with disabilities is part of the branch of Human Rights and the right to equal opportunities. The proposed establishment of the Ombudsman for Persons with Disabilities for the municipality of Quillacollo aims above ali ensure the right to work, education, sports, transportation, culture, health and free locomotion of this vulnerable sector of society.
