INTESTINAL PROTOZOAN IMPACT IN PATIENTS TREATED AT INTEGRAL HEALTH SYSTEM AT "LA PAZ" HOSPITAL IN THE SECOND HALF OF 2014

This study found the intestinal protozoa impact in patients at Integral Health System treated at La Paz Hospital in the second half of 2014. Under the following method, the study is descriptive, with a transectorial side, where the universe is determined by the Simple Coproparasitological, Serial Coproparasitological and Fecal Mucus case studies made in the same hospital, plus a survey of one hundred patients, including children, women and elderly people who are part of the Comprehensive Health System took place.
A statistical study of 491 cases, of which 71 cases were positive representing 14.4% fulfilled. The analysis was conducted mostly by Analysis Fecal Mucus because it is the one that allows a rapid diagnosis, which in this case occurred in a total of 289 cases, representing more than 50% of revised analysis. In this dimension, the study of Serial Coproparasitological is what has given more positive results, finding a total of 37 positive cases representing more than 7.5% of the analyzed cases. Of the total positive analyzed cases, 36 of them showed the presence of Entamoeba coli, which represents 7.4% of the study population.
