Invasive physiotherapeutic treatments such as electrocarbolipolysis (a technique that aims to reduce the thickness of localized adiposity due to an accumulation of subcutaneous adipocytes) do not usually use surgical procedures to remove fat. The application of electrocarbolipolysis must be adapted to each patient to obtain meaningful results. The present case reports the application of the electrocarbolipolysis technique to decrease adipose tissue in the double chin in a 20-year-old female patient from Cochabamba, Bolivia.
The procedure of electrocarbolipolysis application was performed with a total of 6 sessions, 2 times a week. After the application of the electrocarbolipolysis technique, a decrease of 1 cm in chin perimetry was observed as well as a reduction of 10 mm in the fat layer of chin. With the results obtained, it is concluded that non-invasive treatments are effective characterizing the application of the electrocarbolipolysis technique for the reduction of adipose tissue in the double chin region, in a 20-year-old female patient from the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia.
