Informed and pluralistic public debate is an essential condition for the functioning of any modern democracy. In countries such as those in Latin America, with democracies still in the process of consolidation, it is particularly important to guarantee spaces for discussion and the exchange of ideas about human rights and the necessary reforms to adequately protect them. Debate is the space where diverse visions and interests can be confronted within a framework of respect, and consensus is reached that supports lasting institutional advances, capable of translating democratic and human rights principles into tangible realities that improve the lives of citizens.Downloads
