General Considerations About the Medicinal Use of Cannabis Sativa; the Guarantee of the Right to Health.

Marijuana is a plant of the genus Cannabis sativa from which about 400 compounds are extracted, of which tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) stand out; known since the 1960s and widely used in the treatment of refractory diseases. However, in Bolivia and Brazil these substances are still considered narcotics and their production and use, although medicinal, are penalized. This article aims to investigate the possibility of expansion by the State of access to these medicines, as a guarantee of the fundamental right to health.
