Mr. Editor:
The Revista de Investigación e Información en Salud (RIIS), in these times that the world lives digitized and in the virtuality, is a good alternative of consultation of articles in different fields in health sciences, with the objective of giving opportunity to the health professionals with impetus to publish their scientific, clinical, statistical and epidemiological evidences.
It is important to check the articles for possible spelling or syntax errors, which could be unintentional, such as the use of the English term "post", since the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE) indicates to use the term "pos" before a consonant, only when it joins words beginning with s, "post" (1) should be used, or in some articles errors such as the term "hyperinflation" instead of "hyperinflammation", the separation of symbols from numbers and the use of bold or italics in an inadequate way.
On the other hand, it is important that the first paragraph in an article involves the motive for which the article is being published. The second paragraph should be characterized by indicating the importance of the identified problem and its correlation with the present publication. The statistical paragraphs should be pyramidal, avoiding historical or theoretical paragraphs that do not contribute to the introduction of the problem. And the last paragraph should establish the objective(s) of the work. The paragraphs should be careful to centralize the idea in no more than 20 lines. The discussion should contribute something new from the findings, not repeat what has been narrated before, or place the limitations, it is always important a hypothetical explanation of why? the similarity or discrepancy of the findings, as also indicated by the IMRad model (2)(3)(4).
In short: Introduction - what is the problem and why is it being studied? methods - how and with what materials the problem was studied; results - what was found or identified; and discussion - what does the findings contribute (5).
As a commentary and guide, for authors I suggest: introduction 2 pages, method 3 pages, results 6 pages, discussion 4 pages (4).
"The best way to learn how to write an article is to write it"(2). It is always nice to read an article without errors of any kind, because it guarantees us the quality standards through which valuable narrative documents must pass.
