Studies about the importance of cord clamping moment show conflicting results, no firm conclusions for or against ligature types. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of early and late clamping, assess the presence of maternal complications and neonatal.
To achieve the objective were taken into account 82 pregnant women in labor prodrome -prior authorization, registration and randomization group- proceeded to both early and late clamping the same percentage: 50/50. Sample was taken from the heel at birth and 48hrs.
The results indicate that: to analyze the concentration of Hemoglobin obtained, it was observed that late clamping group showed an average 16.40 g/dl, while infants in the early clamping group had on average 14.43 g/d!, with a difference statistically significant.
Based on previous reviews, we recommend delaying cord clamping for the benefits it brings, and promote early attachment. In conclusion, it was determined that the use of late clamping brings certain benefits that improve the quality of life of the baby, however, is not confirmed that the use of early clamping is harmful, one of the most used yet, it is important to motivate the clamping late for his early addiction condition.
