The present investigation was developed with the objective of evaluating the antibacterial activity ofa hydroalcoholic extract of the tarhui leaves (Lupinus mutabilis sweet). The alkaloids were extracted from the leaves ofthe tarhui in a 1 in 10 ratio with 70% alcohol during 7 days, then the solvent was eliminated and vitro tests were carried out using S. strains. Aureus ATCC25923 and S. pyogenes ATCC19615. We observed that the minimum inhibitory concentration for S. aureus strains was 0. 164 mg / ml and for S. pyogenes strains was 0.163 mg / ml.
