Dysmenorrhea is one of the first most common gynecological symptoms that occurs in women after menarche (first menstruation), it occurs between 12 and 13 years on average and occurs in each menstrual cycle.
This research article has as main objective to demonstrate the efficacy of the use of TENS in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea in women; identifying the correct and global dosage for use in patients who eventually present pre-menstrual pain or who are in a painful menstrual stage without necessarily having any gynecological pathology or injury.
Tests were carried out on 15 female patients during administration II/2021, during which time a series of surveys were applied to determine if the patients presented the symptoms that characterize primary dysmenorrhea, using the kinesiological physiotherapeutic record, which allowed us to identify the degree of pain, affectation, etc. The universe of study included women from 19 to 29 years old.
Resulting in a significant pathophysiological change in terms of pain and change in menstrual flow, after the application of asymmetric biphasic TENS, thus demonstrating that in terms of decrease, the average turns out to be -3.80 from the first session to the session final.
Flow distribution corroborates those 2 patients had increased menstrual flow, 7 patients decreased menstrual flow and 6 patients had normal menstrual flow.
It is determined that the application of transcutaneous electrical stimulation worked positively as a treatment in primary dysmenorrhea.
