Mediation is a way of resolving conflicts between parties with the collaboration of a neutral third party. Bolivia has considered this figure in its legislation for many decades concerning intraprocedural mediation. However, as of 1997 with Law No. 1770 and 2015 with Law No. 708 that abrogates the previous one, the extrajudicial conciliation carried out by Private Conciliation Centers in Bolivia is regulated. lt considers that from the promulgation of the new Civil Procedure Code that introduces the previous conciliation in a mandatory way in sorne judicial proceedings in civil commercial matters, it could give a greater role to the Extrajudicial Mediation Centers collaborating in this way to the Judicial Branch.
