Abstract

On this occasion we present the first quarterly issue of 2018 of Journal Boliviano de Ciencias, with six articles corresponding to the areas of Engineering and Architecture. The first article is carried out by the Department of Civil Engineering in cooperation with the University of Pernambuco (Brazil), which provides a bibliography review on reinforcement corrosion, presenting the mechanisms of occurrence and indicating - additionally - the methods of prevention and control. The second article, carried out by the Department of Oil, Gas and Energy Engineering, analyzes various raw materials as new alternatives for the production of bioethanol and the application of the latter as fuel. In the third article Triveno and Jaldin present a proposal for a two degrees of freedom (TDOF) structure as a speed regulator for a hydroelectric plant. The fourth article, carried out by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, demonstrates the efficiency of a system for digitizing dental radiographic plates and managing clinical records {X-ODONTIC). In the fifth article, Monje investigates the factors that influence the qualification of students graduating from the Architecture and Urban Planning program at the Universidad Privada del Valle Sub Campus Trinidad and proposes some improvement actions. Finally, in the last article, Chávez Jaldín presents a research focused on the analytical calculations of the design of control systems.
