Currently, the IoT or Internet of things, a technological concept that has gained great strength, allows mitigating problems in different economic sectors. With the constant evolution of wireless communication technologies and the growing trend of connecting any element to the Internet, and also the present need to control any environment in real time, the Internet of things allows us to provide innovative solutions using efficient technologies and protocols and last generation.
LoRa, is one of the new wireless transmission technologies in the IoT field, provides a fairly low power consumption, allowing a large transmission range to be obtained that exceeds technologies such as WiFi and cellular networks. These characteristics combined with the current possibility of storing and centralizing amounts of data on servers that are connected to the Internet, allows the development of efficient and robust monitoring systems. In the present investigation, the study of the LoRa technology implemented in a remote monitoring IoT solution was carried out, the advantages of its implementation combined with the use of a virtual private server and the standard protocol for IoT, called MQTT.
