It is with great satisfaction that we present the second quarterly issue of the Journal Boliviano de Ciencias of 2018. This edition has 5 articles related to the areas of engineering and architecture, which contribute to the objective of the magazine: to disseminate scientific knowledge based on investigative processes, contributing to the technological development of the country. The first article comes from the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, where Rojas analyzes the behavior of concrete when it is replaced in different percentages with coarse aggregates recycled from demolished concrete. The author additionally demonstrates its application as structural concrete for homes. In the second article, from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Montaño and Quezada propose a brain stimulation system to induce people who suffer from stress to a state of relaxation, for which the authors develop and implement an alpha and beta wave analysis system. with feedback of audiovisual stimulation signals. The third article originates from the Department of Electromechanics, in cooperation with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, where Montaña and Ramos carry out the modeling and simulation of a robot with four degrees of freedom, explaining in detail the equations that govern the dynamic model of the robot. robot. In the fourth article, from the Department of Industries, Fuentes presents a reflection and analysis of the benefits and challenges of the implementation of food safety management systems in Bolivia.
