Interoperability Protocol

All publications of the Journal Boliviano de Ciencias incorporate interoperability protocols to enable their content to be harvested by other distribution systems, such as digital repositories and metadata harvesters.

Journals published using OJS (Open Journal Systems) integrate the OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative – Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) interoperability protocol.

The Open Archives Initiative develops and promotes interoperability standards aimed at facilitating the efficient dissemination of content. OAI has its roots in the open access and institutional repository movements. The Open Archives Initiative emerged as an effort to improve access to electronic preprints, with the broader aim of increasing the availability of scholarly communication.
