Submission Instructions

The main condition for submitting manuscripts is that they have not been previously published and are currently not in an application process in another scientific journal.

In order to send papers, the author must register in the system in advance: https://revistas.univalle.edu/index.php/journal/user/register, or request a member of the editorial team to register it.

Once the registration process is completed, the author must review the Guide for Authors: Envíos | Journal Boliviano de Ciencias (univalle.edu)), where a checklist to prepare for submission may be found, as well as guidelines for paper preparation.

Likewise, the detail about the general structure, contents, and paper format is explained and exemplified in the JBC template (https://revistas.univalle.edu/guia_jbc.docx).

The format for bibliographic references is to be APA, 7th edition (Normas APA – 7ma (séptima) edición (normas-apa.org)).

Once it has been verified that all the criteria and indications are met, the author may send the work.

All manuscripts must be submitted in Word format (.docx) through the OJS platform: https://revistas.univalle.edu/index.php/ciencias/about/submissions, a menu option that may be found at the top of the Guide for Authors, as well as on the right menu of the Journal's home page.

There, the user will be able to fill out all the requested information and must attach, in addition to the work, the Declaration of Authorship (https://revistas.univalle.edu/autoriajbc.pdf) and the Ownership Agreement (https://revistas.univalle.edu/agradojbc.pdf), both duly completed, as well as the annexes to the manuscript if required.

Once the documents are received, they are referred to a member of the editorial team specialized in the thematic area of the work, who will carry out a preliminary review and determine if the submission requires corrections prior to the editorial process or if, on the contrary, it can be sent to peer review.

The paper reception system is in continuous flow all year round.
