Facing the traditional fired clay bricks, whose traditional artisanal production generates negative impacts on the community and the environment, a study by the Department of Civil Engineering of UNIVALLE is presented as an ecological and sustainable alternative, to develop a specific composition of blocks soil-cement pressings in the city of Cochabamba-Bolivia, which meet the minimum characteristics required for construction. In the same framework and seeking to address the current energy and environmental crisis of the planet, generated by the certainty of the depletion of fossil fuels and the increase in the emission of greenhouse gases, the Department of Oil, Gas and Energies, proposes Options for the production of biofuels, through the validation of a project to obtain bioethanol on a pilot scale from alternative raw materials (mango, banana and corn) available in the Department of Cochabamba.
