The Experimental Unit of Biogas Production (UPEB) of the Private University of the Valley, the last 10 years focuses solely on the production of Biogas, which is a gas that is generated through the anaerobic decomposition of organic matter, where methanogenic bacteria participate who are in charge of production. This project focuses on the characterization and use of Biol as a by-product of the process, which is an organic fertilizer also called liquid biofertilizer that contains nutrients of high nutritional value, so it is necessary to analyze and evaluate the physical and chemical properties of the Biol for its application as biofertilizer in different green areas within the university campus.
The results of the Biol analysis showed high values in its composition with respect to Nitrogen (7135.5 mg/L) and Phosphorus (93.45 mg/L), these nutrients are essential for the growth of vegetation. The application of the Biol was carried out in areas of the UEPB where the grass in the determined areas was scarce; as a result, the growth of grass can be observed where the area with the best was the 1:20 dose of Biol in water.
